Valentines day is still going strong at our house! I had some friends over yesterday for a craft day and we made a few projects including this adorable baby valentine footprints craft. It is a perfect gift for my friend Lydia’s husband from their son Parker (6 months old).
You might have already seen my toddler hearts post from last week. I had a toddler crafting day and the little girls painted hearts for Valentines day. This footprint craft was done the exact same way but we used Parker’s little feet.
For instructions on how to prepare this project visit my Toddler Painted Hearts Tutorial Here. Quick version- you mod podge craft paper onto a shoebox lid or dollar store “artwork” then cut a heart out of white paper. (Wow, I just summarized my two page post into one sentence… but the pictures are always helpful!)
This was a two man job for sure! I was supposed to be helping but of course I grabbed my camera to document so LeeAnn had to jump in and do the helping.
Green first, then blue! We had already picked the blue colored craft paper so we knew what colors of paint we wanted to use.
After letting the paint dry we simply glued the heart onto the paper canvas board. I added the little label to the bottom as well, I think it adds a nice touch. If you want this label you can download it from my Toddler Painted Hearts Tutorial Here.
A few days after I published the above post my friend came over and wanted to make one of these for her daughter. It turned out so cute I had to update my post and add this butterfly valentine artwork as well.
I hope you are getting crafty with your little ones and making fun (messy) memories.

Another adorable craft!! I love using their little hand and foot prints in crafts. It amazes me every time I look at something I made with my son when he was that small just how much he’s grown.
Thanks Amber, it goes so fast right? The first year was SLOW.. maybe the colic but now things are going too fast!! EEk
Great idea! Looks like quite the project. What a cutie! BTW…love the 5 or 6 bottles of champagne in the last pic 🙂
Haha… One night Courtney was telling me she was out of wine and I said… NO WAY that doesn’t happen in my house. I meant it 🙂
What a great idea, I love any crafts using the kids hand and footprint, I think they are pretty special. Great job here!
Thanks so much Courtney!
So much fun!!!! LOVE the butterfly foot ones. Thinking I might even do this with the bigger girls. Maybe a poster size with all of his girls foot butterflies. Oh the ideas are flying in 🙂 Thank you so much for posting.

I love this! I have some from when my son was a baby (8 years ago), but you really took the extra step by mounting them on fun paper! I would love to have you link up at our party http://www.mycraftilyeverafter.com/2014/02/04/awesome-things-tuesday-12/
