My daughter is barely over a year old and already loves makeup. She pretends to put it on her face, chews on the brushes and loves taking things out of the bag then putting them back. Unfortunately she also has a habit of breaking everything. When I saw this DIY pretend play make up for kids idea on Pinterest I was super excited! It is easy and I already have old makeup containers plus nail polish. It took me 15min to make. Like I said… EASY. If you are not a parent but you have old makeup and nail polish you should make a few of these for your mommy friends, trust me their kids will love them. This is a great gift! So here is how I made them…
First I cleared all of the makeup out of the palette using a knife and then I gave them a rinse with water. Filled them up with nail polish (the thicker you pour, the longer the drying time). Then I let them dry overnight! That’s it, super easy.
I gave Scarlett her makeup set this morning and she LOVES it! I used a little bag from my freebie Clinique collection. Thanks to whoever came up with this idea… It is all over Pinterest and the internet so I could not find a specific blog to credit.
Pinterest/Internet images…..

Thank you Natasha! I just linked up and signed up for your weekly reminder 🙂
What a great idea! So much fun for your little one, and a great way to reuse old makeup containers. I’ll have to remember this for later.
Thank you Elizabeth! Scarlett really loves it!
brilliant idea!!
Thank you, I got it from Pinterest!! So fun
love pinterest what a fun idea my granddaughter will be this age soon to play makeup
come see what we shared at http://shopannies.blogspot.com
Thanks Angie! As soon as Scarlett turned 11 months she was reaching and grabbing for my makeup. After the first “break” to my mac blush I decided it was time to do something about it. This nail polish makeup has worked so well, Scarlett no longer reaches for my bag, she has her own.
This is so clever and fun! I just need to have a little girl to do this for! 🙂 I don’t my husband would appreciate me making this for my two boys haha
Lol I know Katie my friends are always telling me to create more things for boys!
SERIOUSLY!!! What a great idea! Thanks so much for linking up to Twirl and Take a bow~!

Thanks for hosting, it was a great link up party!
This is GENIUS! I am not a girly girl, but my twin girls ARE! They will love, love, love this! Pinning!
It is isn’t it? I saw the idea on pinterest a few different times and finally did it! Scarlett carries her makeup with her when we leave the house lol
I have three girls!!! I’m SO doing this!!! I will admit my 2-year-old son also likes to try to put on makeup and nail polish, LOL! The age of imitation. He’d get a kick out of it, too, without looking drag.

Hahaaaaa Joy! That is too funny, I got a mental image of your son in drag. Yes this nail polish is a much better idea lol
