Party Paper Pinwheels, try saying that 5x fast. These DIY paper pinwheels are so easy and fast to make. These pinwheels are great for photo backdrops, banners and party decorations. My friends and I crafted these particular pinwheels for my daughters birthday party. We made them so quickly that we had lots of time to relax, gossip and drink wine afterward! They turned out gorgeous! All you need is some scrap paper, scissors, staples and rubber bands. This is how we made them……
Materials: Scrapbook paper, scissors, staples, rubber bands, tape, ribbon or twine.
1. Layer two scrapbook papers on top of each other. Mark a guide on the backside every 1 1/2″ for folding purposes (based on 12×12 paper). Or just eye it yourself, it does not need to be exact. Fold the outer edges inward first, this is important to keep the pinwheels looking clean when they are stapled.
2. Accordion fold the rest of the paper keeping them stacked to save time. Staple the two papers together at the middle to make one long accordion paper. Make sure the staples go long way following the direction of the folds.
3. Gather the entire length of the stapled paper into one long folded stack and put a small rubber band (I used Scarlett’s little hair bands from Target) in the middle. Gather the sides around and staple together.
Once you start making these they become really fast and easy. Below is a picture of a few of these with my daughter’s birthday sign TUTORIAL HERE. Enjoy!
