We recently updated the electrical wiring on our San Diego home and renovated our backyard. Im happy to say that it turned out AMAZING! I have never written a review on this blog before but O’Kane Electric did such a phenomenal job that I felt compelled to share our experience. We searched for San Diego electrician and Carlsbad electrical services on google and read through many yelp reviews. We decided to meet with multiple electricians to review our job. Chris was by far the most knowledgeable, trustworthy and affordable electrician that we met. He offers many electrical services that we needed and he gave us ideas that we had not thought of. Chris was very creative in his approach when presented with challenges.
Electrical Plan for our Backyard
The original plan was to have Chris wire the backyard for our new grill island, landscape lights and Jacuzzi hot tub as well as perform some electrical work inside our house. With the added burden of the additional power we needed to upgrade our panel. This was a blessing in disguise. Are you aware you need to update your panel every 20-30 years? I was not aware! Since upgrading our electric panel we have seen a reduction in many issues we had with appliances, outlets and constant breakers being tripped.
The plan was to upgrade our panel, add a panel to the backyard, then install the various outlets needed across the landscape. After that O’Kane electric would install the outdoor spot lights, the hanging string lights and patio lighting. The last phase would be the Jacuzzi hot tub installation which Chris had to come back for once the hot tub was finally delivered to our home. We were happy that Chris installed extra outdoor outlets below our roof. These outlets made the string lights for our yard, work in the way that we wanted them to. His team also added outlets around the perimeter of the yard for a TV, speakers and other future additions that we might want to add. We love the added outlets so much! We use the outlets for so many things that we didn’t expect such as bouncy houses, charging toys and more.
Hot Tub Installation
My favorite part about our backyard remodel is the jacuzzi hot tub! Chris O’Kane, the electrician, was able to build a power tower on our roof and run the wires through the attic from the front our our home, to the backyard in order to power the jacuzzi and all of the other upgrades. It looked really clean and was an affordable option that NONE of the other electricians we quoted with offered to us.
Outdoor Grill Island Electrical
He also wired our grill island with multiple outlets, mini fridge and more. We love having BBQ’s and entertaining now! The outdoor island bar has an ice bin which was a feature we added at the last minute and I am so glad that we did. It comes in handy for parties.
