Another fabulous craft done by my friend LeeAnn. I really love hosting craft day at my house because my friends are so inspiring. They have amazing ideas and always get things done really quickly. These DIY wood picture blocks took no time at all and cost only $13 for 6 (with a little wood left over for other projects).
Step One- Buy a sheet of ply wood at home depot and ask them to cut 8×10 blocks for you.
Step Two- Spray paint the blocks with black primer or any black paint
Step Three- Print out your pictures onto plain white computer paper.
Step Four- Mod Podge the pictures on top of the wood blocks. Make sure to SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH the picture down to minimize wrinkles. Let dry completely
Step Five - You can skip this step. We did. But if you would like a glossy finish on these picture blocks you can add one layer of mod podge on TOP of your picture. You can also use a clear finishing gloss. We liked the matte rustic look of the pictures as is so LeeAnn left them without a top coat.
Step Six - Sand down the edges to create a rustic antique feel.
Step Seven - Staple wide ribbon onto the back of the photo blocks so that you can hang them. LeeAnn created a bow at the top of her ribbon which turned out really cute.
All finished!! Didn’t they turn out great?! I love the ribbon color that LeeAnn picked and the pictures are all gorgeous. These were a gift for her mother Dana aka “MeMa” and from what I hear she loved them!

Wood photo blocks are popular this week!! Love how these turned out! Love the ribbon bows!

Did you put the pictures print side down or print side up?
Sorry could you please reply to my email on my question. Thank you. And I should have said this to start with, these are fantastic.
I’m planning on making these for Christmas gifts. What type of Modge Podge, did you use? They have many different finishes and it was unclear which one you used for this project.
Love those amazing moments with your family members on the wood picture blocks! The idea is outstanding, It is a must-try DIY for me. Thanks and keep up the great work!
